Michael Jackson’s Memorial
Today is the memorial slated to be one of the largest celebrity memorials in history. Most huge networks will be broadcasting it live. There will be several live streaming sites on the Internet as well where it’s estimated that more than a billion people will be tuning in to bid their farewells to this mega superstar.
I remember when I was about six or so, I was watching MTV at my aunt’s house and Thriller came on. Back then, Michael morphing into a werewolf scared the living daylights out of me. My parents always played his music though, so I grew up knowing the Thriller album as well as Off the Wall and Bad.
This past weekend, my family and I took a road trip to south Texas and on our journey; my mom and I watched Michael Jackson videos on my portable DVD player. We listened to his music in the car and we bought Michael Jackson stuff in the malls down there. It was all sort of a makeshift memorial of our own; a tribute of sorts.
I’ll never forget the death of this icon; neither will my dad since it all transpired on his birthday.
Gone too soon…but the King of Pop will live on.

I watched the memorial after work. Man, I think I used up a whole box of tissues. It was so sad. What really got me was when Paris went up to speak – if you didn’t cry at that…
I love Michael Jackson and always will. Such a kind and gentle soul. But I guess Stevie said it best: We needed him on earth but God just needed him more.

There are no words that express the loss of this music icon!!! MJ was the king of music, there will NEVER be another like him! I have always been a fan, in fact so much so that my children used to say awe mom do we have to listen to Michael Jackson everytime we get in the car????? I remember going to his concert when Thriller came out….he is the music ICON ever in time AND his music will live on forever!!!!

I remember being glued to the T.V. when The Jackson 5 first aired on the Ed Sullivan Show singing ABC. I grew up listening to his music and I’ve been a loyal fan every since. He will truly be missed and there will never be another that can sing and perform the way he did. It’s hard to accept he’s gone, and in my heart he’ll never be forgotten. I love you Michael, may you rest in peace.
